We clearly aim to be our customers’ first choice. We are looking for a Group Insurance and Risk Manager to be responsible for the Insurance and Risk management function of Epiroc. The mission of the function, in the newly formed organization, is to provide adequate insurance protection for the Epiroc companies on a global basis. The Insurance and Risk Management function is also owner of Epiroc’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)-program and Group’s Loss Prevention Program with focus on physical loss prevention. Involvement in the Crisis Management program is part of the mission.

Provided that Epiroc decides to set up a captive insurance company, the Group Insurance and Risk Manager will also have management responsibility for such company as Managing Director and member of the board. International travel is a natural part of the job.

The Insurance and Risk Management function is located among the corporate functions in Group Center in Nacka, Sweden, and will report to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Epiroc.

Experience and education requirements

We are looking for a candidate with an educational background within the areas of finance, law or engineering together with relevant certifications from IFU (The Swedish institute of insurance education) and a minimum of ten years of experience from working with insurance and risk management in a global environment. As managing director of a possible Epiroc captive insurance company you will also need to be approved by the financial supervisory authorities (FI). Therefore previous experience from captive insurance is essential. You have a good understanding of global industrial businesses’ and their operations and know the risks and controls within these areas. You also have experience from reinsurance and international insurance markets, especially in global setups. More specifically, we require insurance experience from:

  • General and Product Liability
  • Property and Business Interruption
  • Financial Lines
  • Cargo
  • Business Travel Insurance  

We also require experience from ERM processes and Loss Prevention as the Group Insurance and Risk Manager will have the responsibility for the outsourced activities within these areas. Communication skills in Swedish as well as in English must be excellent.

Personality requirements

The successful candidate should be analytical, responsive and flexible in the dealings with others, respectful and easy to work with but also able to act with authority when the situation demands that. Excellent communication skills is therefore required as ability to take decisions. The candidate is further dedicated and can work diligently and efficiently even under pressure and remain calm and stable and master such situations. The successful candidate should be motivated to work hard to achieve goals.

Company presentation

Atlas Copco's Board of Directors announced in January 2017 that it will initiate work in order to propose to the Annual General Meeting in 2018, to decide on a split of Atlas Copco into two parts. Atlas Copco will focus on industry and Epiroc will focus on mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries. The current Mining and Rock Excavation business area – core of the future Epiroc - provides equipment for drilling and rock excavation, a complete range of related consumables and service through a global network. The business area innovates for sustainable productivity in surface and underground mining, infrastructure, civil works, well drilling and geotechnical applications. Principal product development and manufacturing units are located in Sweden, the United States, Canada, China and India.
